Frosty Flowers and Upcoming Christmas Show

This morning, when I awoke, I was excited to see a blanket of heavy frost on the fields and the gardens of our country property. Now this wasn’t because of a desire for an early winter, but my sister, who lives to the north in Combermere, had taken some fantastic photos of her flowers covered with a hoar frost. This was at least a month ago,  but near Lake Ontario we have had a milder than normal Fall and some of my garden was still in bloom. Now I wanted to capture my few remaining roses with a delicate frosting of ice. It happened early this morning!

Later today, I continued printing photos and making keepsake framed photo greeting cards, matted photos and my specialty, photo frame wooden serving trays in preparation for this upcoming weekend where I will be taking part in “Christmas in Clarington Country” at one of the 15 locations, Archibald’s Orchard and Winery. Here is the link to Archibald’s www.archibaldswinery.com .  My images include butterflies, birds and owls of Ontario, scenes of Bond Head, Newcastle and many beautiful floral phots that I’ve captured, mainly in Clarington and on some of my local travels. Over the past 2 years , as a member of the Oshawa Camera Club, I have continued to grow as a photographer with the encouaragement of many of the other members. If you would like to meet me in person and view some of my photos, I will be at Archibald’s from 10:00 til 5:00 this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday November 25th to Nov.27th.

In the slideshow above, I have included some of my original works. Hope to see you this weekend!

    Wow…these are beautiful pictures Jane!

    • Debi,
Glad you like them. The “pinky” cloloured Bond Head shot was taken with my Kodak “point and shoot” about 5 years ago. It’s still one of my favourites….a warm winter picture which is quite unusual!

I love your Frosty Flowers! Thank you for crediting me with the inspiration! lol

  3. Loreen,
Well I was out again this morning shortly after the sun came up and tried once again to capture these hardy little roses capped with frost. I’m not sure how they manage to survive. Maybe they’re trying to hang on until Christmas but don’t think there’s a chance of that!
Thanks so much for inspiring me to look for opportunities to still photograph flowers a month before Christmas. Unbelievable!
    Jane
