Unusual Garden Visitors

Earlier this week, in the early morning, I took my camera and my cup of tea out to the side garden a few meters from the our house. My photos will allow you to see the visitors that were right in the garden very close to the house! They “seemed” unaware of my presence.

Two months ago, we noticed 4 small wild turkeys down our driveway and have watched them grow over the summer months. We actually wondered if they would survive as they had obviously been separated from their mother and siblings. More than surviving, they seem to be thriving. The four turkeys normally run into the field of corn when we get too close. That seems to be their protection for now. I’m not sure where they will go once the corn is harvested in October.

    • Hi Loreen, I missed sending a reply. The turkey’s were kind’a cute…..now they are kind’a BIG! We’ve seen them twice since Thanksgiving so fortunately they didn’t end up on anyone’s holiday table! Jane
