With such an amazing summer drawing to a close, I find myself drawn to my garden early each morning to see what new surprises might be there. With my cup of tea and my camera, I normally settle into a chair and wait, hoping to see a hummingbird, a blue jay or perhaps a Monarch moving lazily to a few of the remaining flower blossoms. This past week, I have “captured” some beautiful images and thought I should share them with others who also appreciate nature as I do. I hope you enjoy them!
Note: The wild turkeys were right in my garden. We’ve seen them near our corn fields and down the road, but never in our garden! They became separated from their mother and siblings early this summer but seem to survived and thrived on their own.
Where has the summer gone, Jane? I really enjoyed these photos, as always! It’s nice to imagine you enjoying your tea in your garden. Thanks for sharing with me. Anne C

Hi Anne,
I have to say that I spent most of the summer taking pictures and almost every day was perfect. Glad you liked the pictures. Since it is a rainy day, I hope to see you at yoga today!

Great Pictures Jane! Looks like you had a good day in the garden yesterday
Hi Debi, I had many wonderful days in the garden this summer. I can’t believe the number of birds and butterflies that I’ve had a chance to observe this year, not to mention all the beautiful flowers. Thanks for your interest. Jane
Wonderful series!
Hi Daniel, I enjoyed doing it. There are so many more of them but I just never seem to get them on my blog.
Thanks!
Jane

Wow! These are wonderful! Great shots of the hummingbirds!
Hi Loreen,
I have been working on getting some “in focus” hummingbird shots for a couple of years now. I was pleased at the improvement. Thanks for you ongoing encouragement.
Jane
A great post Jane, the photos are all beautiful. You have these big turkeys in your garden ? Wow ! I only saw them once last year in Ottawa when I visited my brother, and have never seen them in my garden !
Hi Jocelyn,
Sorry it took me so long to respond to your encouraging comments……while the weather is still nice I am spending more time outside and very little at the computer. The 4 turkeys seem to avoided any of the hunter’s Thanksgiving tables as we saw them 2 days ago.
With the corn now being harvested, hopefully they will find a safe area in the woods to stay safe for the winter.
