November 1st seemed to be the day that fall really arrived here in Newcastle, Ontario. Â It was a blustery day with winds from the southwest around 50 miles per hour . Â Since I had my camera with me in the car (like I normally do!), I stopped at Bond Head on my way home from errands.
I wasn’t the only one to realize this would be a perfect day for a shot at the waves…the surfer guys and girls were prepared in their wet-suits with their boards  and were out there pursuing their passion…….surfing on Lake Ontario. This was a sight I expected to see in California, not just down the road from my home in Newcastle. Here are some of the photos I took using my telephoto lens. I used the same settings as I do for birds and the results speak for themselves.

What a lucky day that was, Jane Š magnificent photos all! Eva

Thanks, Eva. It is amazing to see something like that so close to home. And, it was a change to snapping bird pictures! Jane
It is certainly not a common sight, so your pics offer something rather unique. Perhaps your local paper would print…. just a thought.
They were unique for me. Thanks for the tip about the paper. Jane
Those are great shots! I never thought of Newcastle as a place to surf! Who knew?
It was a surprise to me too. When the winds are from the south again I will remember this day and head out to see what’s in the surf.
Wow, the lake was in fury ! These were huge waves ! The photos are great Jane.
Have a nice week 🙂
Thank you for your comments, Jocelyn. Glad you liked the unusual Lake Ontario photos.
